This is one of my FAVORITE groups EVER! I have been a fan of Zap Mama for many years. This Belgian-based group started in 1990. My Afropean sista Marie Daulne, also the frontwoman of Zap Mama, always brings freshness and uniqueness to the stage. Daulne's mission is to bridge the cultures of Africa and Europe through music. But Marie doesn't discriminate. You can hear the sounds of not only Africa, but essences of Indian, Caribbean, American hip-hop and soul sounds permeated through her music.
