Hey Guys,
I've gotten a few requests to showcase more of my own personal style in the form of accessories and/or clothing. Style for me has always been just that -- personal -- like another limb of my identity. The times when I am inspired and focused, along with the times when I can get myself to stray away from the ordinary pair of skinny jeans and t-shirt (those are so easy to go to) -- clothing becomes like an art form. I like to think of it as that, an art project where I can mix colors and textures together to form an outer exterior of fabric that is true to me.
That being said, jewelry and accessories are also crucial to my life! When I fall upon those days where I do go to the "go to" jeans and t-shirt, I add a splash of a little "sumthin' sumthin" by incorporating accessories.
Today, I wanted to share with you another one of my favorite vintage finds (on the clothing front) that I purchased from a vintage store in San Francisco last year. Can you believe I haven't worn it yet?! I never could find the right occasion. But this season I'm going to throw that tired excuse out of the window! If you have something you've always wanted to wear in your closet (but never could find the right time to wear it), get that number out now!
The dress is a 1970s maxi dress with gold sequins embroidery on the bust and gold threading throughout. It's a tad glitzy, and yes, I will be rocking these gold sequins in the daytime (finally)! I figure I can dress it down with a jean jacket and some sandals for a casual day to evening look as the weather gets warmer.
Bottom line : Be you and be true! Use fashion to reflect your personality, or as your own form of creative expression!
