Celia Cruz is internationally known as the "Queen of Salsa." Born in Havana, Cuba in 1925, Celia Cruz remains the most influential female figure in the history of Cuban music. Her trademark shout "Azucar" meaning "sugar" in Spanish became a signature in all of her music. Sadly in 2003 at the age of 77, Celia died from a cancerous brain tumor at her home in New Jersey. Even after her death, Celia's music remains legendary. Check out this beautiful vintage footage of her performing "Quimbara" live in Africa.
