Saturday, my sister and I stopped by NaturallyCurly's "Texture on the Runway" event in NYC. I was really excited to see the idea of "hair as fashion" come to life. The place was PACK-ED with curly and coily guys and gals alike, and every texture in between. It was very much a seen and be seen event, and quite honestly, I always feel super awkward in those type of environments, so my sister and I both retreated to the bar and "hair watched" until the show began.
As for our hair, we both did a wash and go. I styled my hair with Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Eco Styler Gel, and even today, at day 4, most of my curls remain intact. Even though I love the way my hair looks with wash and gos, I like to reserve this style for "special occasions" because they tend to be extremely drying to my hair. However, I'm savoring each moment until the time comes to put this hair back into a protective style.
Anyway, all in all, it was a wonderful event, and even though the hair was great on the runway, the beautifully diverse ladies and gentlemen off the runway definitely stole the show!
