The time has finally come to solidify the vacation plans! I wrote a post last year about how important it is for me to save up each year for a vacation, how important it is to "refresh" your minds and bodies at least once a year (But, quite honestly, if I had money like that, I would refresh every season!), and most importantly, how important it is to enjoy la joie de vivre.
Last year (June 2010) was the time I introduced the idea of saving up for Greece. I planned to be committed to the idea of saving so I could take my Grecian trip this Fall. Well, Fall 2011 (though not officially) is here. So how did we do?
Well, I saved up, but I only started saving up for real this past Spring. The truth is, ish got real this year --being in and between jobs and internships, volunteering-- you could say I wasn't exactly rolling in the dough. This economy sucks big time, can I get an Amen? But, at the same time, I couldn't let something that is so important to me fall by the wayside. So, I managed to save up a little something.
So, where will I be going next month?!
(Hint: It's not Greece LOL, but somewhere a little closer and just as beautiful to me (and A LOT cheaper)... And it's off the coast of this: 18°15 'N, 66°30'W)
