In the past, rosemary oil wasn't the first oil to come to mind when I thought of hair oils, but, boy, how I was mistaken. I was introduced to rosemary oil a little over two months ago, as it was yet another amazing recommendation from my sister. I noticed how shiny and rich my sister's hair was looking and asked if she had been using something else aside from the old time favorite, Vatika Oil. She then revealed the tiny green Weleda bottle from her hair "bag": The secret to the luster and shine of my sister's strands. She exclaimed that this little bottle was expensive, a little over $12.00 for only 1.7 ounces, but it was worth every penny for how well it worked.
Better than Vatika Oil? I thought. How could anything top my obsession? But then again, Vatika never got my hair that shiny or that soft. Like patent leather.
I did a little research on rosemary oil, and found it to have, of course, a full load of benefits, including hair growth and hair loss prevention. It is even said to slow down the graying of hair. It had been used in the Mediterranean region for centuries as a hair tonic due to its many stimulating properties. Though rosemary oil is certainly not the only oil to stimulate hair growth, it was definitely something that I wanted to explore further.
I discovered the Weleda brand of rosemary oil, in particular, is not solely produced from rosemary, but rather it's a blend of almond oil, clover blossom extract, lavender oil, and rosemary oil. Okay, okay so it's not the pure thing but that doesn't take away from how well it works. I've used it in the place of my then dwindling supply of Vatika Oil after my weekly washes. I was amazed of how brilliant my hair looked, and it was not at all greasy. My hair felt soft, supple and moisturized. Seriously, it takes a lot for me to go out and buy a new product, especially when it's a little bottle for 12 bucks. But after I saw how well it worked for my hair these past two months, I am sold on its magic.
I thought I would never see the day when my Vatika Oil usage would come to a complete and sudden halt. But I think I might have found something better!
Bottom line: Two thumbs up for Weleda Rosemary Oil! It definitely will become a staple item. The only small cons would be the price, the size and, maybe, the smell for some. It has a strong aroma therapeutic scent, but it's not at all bad.
