Mickalene Thomas, Two Wives: Nollywood 1, 2010
Celebrating the color of photographic expression, the "Africolor" exhibition looks at the connections in photography between Africa, color and color photography. The exhibition presents a sampling of work from a collection of artist photographers spanning Africa, Europe and the U.S., such as Malick Sidibé, Mickalene Thomas, Daniele Tamagni, Samuel Fosso and Lolo Veleko. These works re-image the unique beauty that is Africa. Africolor will be showing at Danziger Projects until September 10th at 527 West 23rd Street in NYC.
