Hey Guys!
Here are the twist out results five days after my third Cassia treatment. As I mentioned before, instead of doing my usual routine, I decided to revisit some old forgotten products, and set my hair into two-stranded twists. I decided that I really want to finish off my half/barely used hair products before I move on to anything new (while still trying to stay within the parameters of my overall hair care routine). I'm going to have to make these products work somehow in order for me to finish them up! For this style, I used a grand total of 4 products (2 of those being the oldies), and I am happy to say that I am quite pleased with the results!
Okay, drumroll please...
Here is the rundown :
Since I have been pretty happy withmy golden combo of leaving in a moisturizing conditioner and following up with Vatika oil, I have not found myself running to use the two above oldie products. Why? Well, let's go back a bit. When I first purchased SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie, I thought it worked really great in terms of keeping my hair moisturized and maintaining a light definition, especially during my trip to Europe over the holidays. However, as I continued to use the product, I found it worked inconsistently. Since I had been wearing mostly braid outs at the time, I would sometimes have great results with lots of shine and light definition, or results that were dry and stringy. Long story short, I was a bit disappointed with the product, so I retired it to the bottom of the sink.
In contrast, I am still a fan of Aubrey Organics B5 Design Gel. However, since I don't really use gel in my current routine and I rarely do wash and gos anymore, which is another instance where I would most likely use gel, B5 found its way under the sink as well.
After I finished the entire Cassia treatment process (including a deep conditioning treatment to finish), I applied a little bit of Aveeno Nourish + Shine Conditioner to three sections as a base. I then applied a quarter-sized amount of SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie to each section. To finish it off, I applied AO B5 Design Gel to ensure hold and definition. I made 4 twists for the two front sections, and 4 medium/large twists in the back.
I wore the twists during the week in a low makeshift bun, oiling and retwisting each night. Of course with twist outs, I always have a lot more shrinkage than I do with a braid outs, but I just love the ringlets I get with twist-outs!
When I am feenin' for a little change of pace, these products will be it until they are no more under the sink, but empty jars in the trash. Next in line, my half used Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Nectar and Hair Butter!
Hmm, what will I conjure up to make these work? Stay tuned!
