This Easter I went up to visit my parents' house in upstate New York. We had a pretty large turnout this year -- twelve people to be exact. We scrambled together an eclectic group of chairs to seat our very large eclectic family. All of us centered around my mom's fabulous "tablescape." And with holidays comes the food, banging as usual: Roasted lamb, beef brisket, asparugus, roasted potatoes, and my all time favorite, baked Mac & Cheese (I'm totally salivating as I write this). Anywho, what's great about the holidays are the stories, like my dad's telling of his childhood Easter egg hunts, where in his case the eggs were chocolate and filled with liqueur (they start them young in France), or my aunt's story of the egg hunt where Don King hid the Easter eggs... (managed to overhear that one). Being with family in the warmth of one too many glasses of wine...priceless.
