Designer Look: Tracy Reese

by Kiffe Coco. in ,

One reason why I love Tracy Reese's designs is because they are practical yet edgy, and girly in just the right way. Her designs are "ready to wear" and they still have that high-fashion appeal. Hailing from Detroit, Reese is passionate about her craft and ranks as one of the most successful African-American fashion designers.

Virginia Smith from Fashion Week Daily says, “
Tracy's been around for a relatively long time. She's like a hidden jewel in the fashion industry."

Here are some looks from her Spring 2010 collection:

Rockin' the Beret

by Kiffe Coco. in ,

I am rocking a beret and hot pink lipstick, yay! I love the beret/ over-sized beanie look. They are great for bad hair days (when your curl just ain't curling right). What I like to do instead of stuffing all of my hair inside the beret is to leave some pieces out in the front to create a sort of a bang. I also like to pin the hair to the side sometimes when I am annoyed at it being crazy in my face, as in the first picture.

Also, I'm trying to rock bright accessories this winter. Just because it's cold and dreary outside doesn't mean we have to be. Give your winter wardrobe some sunshine! And plus, it will make you feel good.
