As per the request of all of you jewelry addicts, I compiled a top ten list of some of my favorite places to shop for jewelry and accessories. Without further ado, I present to you "The List" (not in any particular order):
1) ANTHROPOLOGIE (www.anthropologie.com):
Their selection is filled with lovely, eclectic treasures that can cost a pretty penny, but if you look, they do have some pieces that are reasonable and just as cute as the expensive stuff.
2) AMRITA SINGH (www.amritasingh.com):
I am so glad my mom introduced me to this designer (thanks mommy)! A lot of her jewelry may seem pricey, but she has AMAZING sales! We are talking 50% to 75% off original prices. She has great pieces, including beautiful Indian inspired bangles, which actually come in three different wrists sizes!
3) FREE PEOPLE (www.freepeople.com):
Like Anthropologie, this store also offers that chic/boho look that I love. However, there are two classes of jewelry here, too: the expensive and the not so expensive. But that being said, you will always end up finding something super cute, just right for your budget.
4) TOPSHOP (www.topshop.com):
The actual TopShop store, as opposed to the online store, has a much wider selection of jewelry and accessories. The online store is not too bad, but if you really want to make your head spin over the selection, go to the store! They have the ultimate collection of costume jewelry, along with other outrageous pieces that will make you ask yourself, "Now when in the hell am I going to wear plate-sized earrings?"
5) ASOS (www.asos.com):
ASOS seriously is an addiction. Their clothes section definitely surpasses their jewelry section most of the time. But you can definitely find some cute, funky accessories on the site from time to time.
6) URBAN OUTFITTERS (www.urbanoutfitters.com):
I just bought a really cute pair of beaded sandals at the store a couple of weeks ago for only $38! They have really cute sandals this season! In any case, their summer jewelry collection is really cute (lots of feathers/feathered inspired pieces). On a side note, I am glad to see their clothing slowly moving away from the rocker/shoulder pads/80s look. I don't know about you, but that look definitely was not working for me.
7) FOREVER 21 (www.forever21.com):
This place always surprises me. Their jewelry section just gets better and better each time I visit. They are really attuned to what's in and trendy. Overall, great looking jewelry for a great price!
8) ALDO (www.aldoshoes.com):
I know Aldo is normally known for its shoes, but they also have a pretty good accessory section. Their selection is pretty comparable to Forever 21, but of course depending on which store you go to, the merchandise can vary.
9) H&M (www.hm.com):
H&M's selection of jewelry can be pretty basic, but sometimes the less complicated the better.
10) RANDOM JEWELRY TABLES/STANDS ON THE STREET:
This has to be by far one of my favorite places to get jewelry. Some of my favorite and most complimented pieces have been purchased right from someone's jewelry table. Sometimes you'll find that the jewelry is handmade, so it's really great way to support small, struggling designers. Also, because the items are not mass-produced, I am confident that the probability of me seeing something I bought somewhere else or have seen on someone else, is fairly low.
*** I also wanted to add that vintage shops are another great place to find unique clothing and accessories! On the online scene, Etsy has a great selection of handmade jewelry and clothes. Sometimes I just type in what I'm looking for (i.e. "African Bangles"), and I am overwhelmed by the variety of results that come up.
I hope this inspires y'all to go out and get your jewelry on!
Have a great weekend!
